Unknown gunmen did this to LASG expatriate in Lagos
– Expatriate was working on a Lagos state government project – Police sources say investigation have begun on the recent incident A foreign worker of Granebury Construction has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Epe area of Lagos state, PM News reports. It was gathered that the worker was with the construction company doing the Lagos state government’s dualisation of the Epe Township Expansion project in Epe, Lagos. The unnamed expatriate was reportedly kidnapped on Monday, July 4 at the project site with sources stating that the aerial surveillance had been mounted in Epe so as to quickly rescue the kidnapped worker. Also, it was gathered that an armoured tank is already at the project site while police officers combed the area for information on the missing expatriate. While confirming the incident, a police source stated that investigation had begun into what led to the incident, while Engineer Ganiu Johnson, the Lagos state commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, refused to comment on the matter. Johnson’s reason was that it was improper and unethical for him to grant interviews to people he does not know on phone. Recently, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that three Australians and a South African who were reportedly kidnapped in Nigeria four days ago, have regained freedom. The foreign expatriates, all contractors, were said to have been abducted while working with Lafarge on the outskirts of Calabar, Cross River state. The men were released unharmed four days after they were kidnapped by gunmen police officers and a state security adviser informed on Sunday.
